Call for articles
Hello to all those teaching, training or learning in adult literacy/English, ESOL or adult numeracy/maths
Call for Papers - Please disseminate as widely as possible.
Now is your chance to write for RaPAL Journal 110. This is our autumn/winter edition and will be published in late 2024/early 2025.
This journal is an open edition where writers can write about what they consider important.
First drafts are due by Thursday 31st October. Send a copy of your draft to journal@rapal.org.uk or me at toni.elambe@gmail.com
Please note: I will be running a Write for RaPAL information session online on Monday 14th October at 7 pm. To register please reply with your full name and email address and I will forward the link. Places are limited. This session will be for those writing for sections one and two. There will be a session for peer-reviewed pieces later in the month.
We welcome both new and experienced writers. We are happy to discuss your ideas and to help with drafting and preparing your piece for publication contact us at journal@rapal.org.uk or toni.elambe@gmail.com.
If you haven’t written for RaPAL before, see the general submission guidelines (Write for us) on our website www.rapal.org.uk or find them towards the back of a previous edition. You are also welcome to contact me, Toni, (one of the editors of Journal 110) with any questions or queries.
The Journal will comprise 3 sections:
Section 1. Ideas for teaching - up to 1,200 words.
Descriptive and reflective pieces on teaching and learning. We welcome contributions from students for this section which can be co-authored with a tutor or other students as suits.
This section could include any of the following:
· a reflective piece on your teaching
· an outline of something new or innovative you have tried in your practice
· a poem or other creative piece
· something visual with text as required
Section 2. Developing Research and Practice - 1,000 - 2,500 words.
This is an open-ended category for a varied range of contributions.
We want to include articles that show people trying out ideas, pushing back boundaries alongside analysis and critique.
Section 3. Research and Practice: Multi-disciplinary perspectives -
This section is for more sustained pieces of analysis about research, policy and practice which will have refereed journal status.We suggest anybody who wishes to contribute to this section contact journal@rapal.org.uk to discuss your contribution well in advance of the submission date.
